Who Are The Taiwanese People

Map:Who Are The Taiwanese People
People who have visited Taiwan from all over the world once called the island and its inhabitants many different names in different languages. However, how do the residents of this land perceive themselves? Taiwan’s population has many different ethnic backgrounds, languages and cultures, therefore “Taiwanese” is a self-identity that cannot be tied to a single language or ethnicity. Anyone who recognizes, cares about, loves and accepts Taiwan, and who is also living here, can proudly say “I am Taiwanese.”
