The Office News was published by the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office, starting in August 1896. In 1942, it was renamed The Office Newspaper. Over 49 years and 2 months, 13,096 issues were published (including more than 670 extra editions and addendums). All laws implemented by the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office and the Central Government were published here, and thus the publication offers a complete legal record of Japanese era in Taiwan.
